Entry from: Geneva, Switzerland Entry Title: “The Geneva- Zurich Intercity” Entry: “I thought of adding a separate blog script for the 3 hour journey to Zurich just to mention the fabulous system of rail and allied public transport facility, especially inter and intra city commuting. The Swiss system will certainly compare with the best in the world. It is perfectly natural for a tourist from USA or many European countries to be wonder-stuck by the quality of Swiss transport system, mainly based on the rails. If Geneva had a good tram network, it held no comparison to the one in Zurich. The tram & train network map in Z urich would fuse your brain cells, and one can only admire at the efficient, methodical and environment friendly system in this small small country. Perhaps Germany and France may rival Switzerland in terms of technology and speed, but I doubt if the penetration and consistency of services in those nations would beat the Swiss. Apart from the Intercity services, Swiss Rail operates specialized services pertaining to each geographical requirement such as Glacier Expresses, Cable cars(to mountain peaks), the vintage Swiss Chocolate Train and numerous regional and international services. Swiss rail network is an amusement park by itself, as per the promotion ads; yes, perhaps the …

“Chicken Bus to Guatemala City” Bobfm’s photos around Guatemala City, Guatemala (travel pics)

Preview of Bobfm’s blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Guatemala City, Guatemala Entry Title: “Chicken Bus to Guatemala City” Entry: “The day starts at 4 AM on my first chicken bus ride that for over four hours gives you every amusement ride force from acceleration, deceleration (slam on the brakes), sideways G-force from taking downhill curves and passing. Then there are the bumps and finally that squished feeling when they pack 3 to a seat. I was fortunate because about half hour into the trip, the passengers in the front seat got off and I bolted for the seat. It is the only seat that my legs fit in. Remember, they were school buses at one time. But eventually I ended up three to a seat but at least with the window seat you don’t slide off during the curves. If your computer doesn’t have a Quick time movie player, download it from www.apple.com /win.html or upgrade your media player. You have to see the three video clips of the chicken bus ride to Guatemala City. The first clip shows a normal pass on a blind curve. Normal just means no one was coming. The second clip shows what happens when there is oncoming traffic and it doesn’t pull over. The last clip shows what happens when there are three vehicles abreast and oncoming traffic appears. I can still smell the burning brakes and the smoke in the picture looks like incense which is very …

A Trip Down Memory Lane – Stowell and Foz
Back in the day a certain Wolves goalkeeper by the name of Mike Stowell used to star regularly in pre-match videos which were shown on the Travel Club coaches travelling to away games. The interviews, with Wolves press officer John Hendley aka Fozzie, provided plenty of amusement for supporters travelling the length and breadth of the country to cheer on the gold and black. Alas all good things had to come to an end. But having had a root about in the Molineux archives, weve managed to discover some of the old videos, and thought it might be time to bring them back for public attention exclusively for subscribers to Wolves Player. Here is a trailer for a two-part Stowell Special, featuring not only intrepid reporter Fozzie but cameos from Don Goodman, Steve Froggatt, Robbie Dennison and Gordon Cowans. And then, later this week, an extra special treat in store as Stowell and Fozzie renew hostilities after almost a decade away from the mic. The Reunion.Coming Soon!

United Breaks Guitars
Visit www.UnitedBreaksGuitars.com for case studies and highlights from Dave’s speaking tour. There is now a video response www.youtube.com Full Story: www.davecarrollmusic.com – In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the 00 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United: Song 1 is the first of those songs. United: Song 2 has been written and video production is underway. United: Song 3 is coming. I promise. Follow me at twitter.com . “Budapest Hungary” Where2now’s photos around Budapest, Hungary (travel pics)

Preview of Where2now’s blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Budapest, Hungary Entry Title: “Budapest Hungary” Entry: “Budapest is surely a budget-traveller’s paradise. We were able to stay in a nice private university dorm, have a sit down meal (gasp!) and visit museums everyday, while staying on or below budget. The people are friendly, the sights are grand, cheap and varied, and the food is bloody fantastic. I actually started to wonder if there is any Hungarian food I wouldn’t like. Aside from the Soviet-era, roof shingle-like toilet paper in abundance here, Budapest was awesome. I was continually surprised that a country that was so recently freed from Soviet rule (the last Russian soldier left in something like 2000) could appear so much like a rich Western democracy. Good stuff! We arrived in Budapest by train from Vienna, and quickly located our first hostel on the Pest side of town (East of the Danube). After a hellish night stay there (picture a window exploding like a bomb in the middle of the night, showering a poor girl in glass), we found a nice place on the Buda side (West of the Danube) and all was well. As usual, our main activity was walking, and there were plenty of things to see to keep us entertained while doing so. Margaret Island, which sits in the middle of the Danube river is a great place to relax, enjoy the sun and stroll …
